Visit Paris - Eiffel Tower






















Once the world's tallest structure, the Eiffel Tower is probably the most important milestone in Europe's most famous symbol of Paris.

I could not visit Paris without seeing the Eiffel Tower. Even if you do not want to visit this world famous structure you can see the top of all Paris. The tower rises 300 meters (984 feet) when completed in late 19 which was two times higher than the Washington Monument, while the world's tallest structure.

Eiffel tower has been built for the Universal Exhibition of 1889, held in celebration of the French Revolution in 1789.
The construction was intended to last only for the duration of exposure, but still standing, despite the protests of contemporary artists, who feared that the building would be the emergence of individuality structures without and in spite of many who feared that this huge 'object' not within the architecture of Paris.

Today, there is no such aversion among the Parisians, and one can not imagine Paris without the Eiffel Tower, in fact, became a symbol of the City of Light.

Gustave Eiffel
The man behind the Eiffel Tower was Gustave Eiffel, known for his revolutionary techniques for building bridges, as employed in the Viaduct Garabit high in 1884. These techniques form the basis for building the Eiffel Tower. He was also known for building the Statue of Liberty iron framework.

Structure took more than two years to complete. Each of the 12,000 iron pieces were designed separately Eiffel Tower at night, to give them exactly what is needed. All pieces were prefabricated and fit approx. 7 million nails.

Most
Opened 31.03.1889, the Eiffel Tower will be the tallest structure in the world until the Chrysler Building in 1930.
